You open Kalshi, choose Withdraw, and expect your money to arrive the way a Venmo transfer does. For a lot of withdrawals it does. For others, part of the balance is still inside a hold on a recent deposit, or the destination you want is not one Kalshi can pay. The mechanics are not complicated, but they are specific, and Kalshi documents them in its own help centre.

To withdraw from Kalshi, open the app or website, choose Withdraw, pick a method (debit card, bank transfer, PayPal, Venmo, crypto, or wire for very large amounts), enter the amount, and confirm. Kalshi's help centre says debit card withdrawals typically arrive within a few hours, bank withdrawals within a few business days, and crypto withdrawals within 30 minutes. Checked on 19 October 2026 against Kalshi's help centre; the pages are linked throughout.

The rest of this guide walks through each method, what Kalshi says about timing, fees and limits for each, the holds that apply to recent deposits, and the reasons a withdrawal commonly stalls.

How to withdraw on Kalshi: the five-step version

Most withdrawals come down to the same five steps. Open Kalshi (app or desktop). Go to your balance. Select Withdraw. Choose a method. Enter an amount and confirm.

Kalshi's Transfers FAQ lists the methods: debit card (including Apple Pay and Google Pay), bank transfer (ACH), PayPal, Venmo, crypto and wire transfer. Cash App is for deposits only. Accounts outside the US can withdraw by debit card and crypto only; bank transfers, PayPal and Venmo are not available to international accounts.

One thing worth knowing before you start: only cash can leave. Kalshi's Security Holds page says funds tied up in open positions are not available to withdraw until you close those positions, and its page on portfolio balances notes that selling and withdrawing are separate actions, so your cash balance may differ from the amount available to withdraw.

How to withdraw money from Kalshi by debit card

Debit card is the method most new users reach for. Kalshi's Debit Card Withdrawals page says funds typically arrive back on your card within a few hours, and that there are no fees for debit card withdrawals. The Transfers FAQ describes debit withdrawals as normally instant, with a processor check that can sometimes delay them; where a withdrawal goes to compliance review, Kalshi says reviews typically take 3 to 5 business days.

There is a limit, but no published figure: Kalshi says there is a daily withdrawal limit that is personalised to your account and increases with account activity, so the number shown in the app when you withdraw is the one that applies. The card has to be in your name; Kalshi's page on linking a debit card says the cardholder name must match the name on your Kalshi account, and cards issued in certain places, Puerto Rico among them, may not be supported.

How do you withdraw from Kalshi by bank transfer (ACH)?

Bank transfer is available to US users only. Kalshi's Bank Withdrawals page says funds arrive within a few business days and that there are no fees for bank withdrawals; Kalshi's fee schedule also says there is no fee associated with ACH withdrawals.

The setup is where people trip. Kalshi's page on linking a bank account says only bank accounts in your name can be linked, and that you connect your bank through one of Kalshi's ACH partners, Plaid or Aeropay; most users connect through Plaid. Our step-by-step guide to opening a Kalshi account walks through the identity verification Kalshi uses on the way in, and the same name has to match on the way out. If a withdrawal goes to a bank account that has since been closed, Kalshi says the funds return to your Kalshi balance.

How do I withdraw from Kalshi by PayPal or Venmo?

Kalshi's PayPal Withdrawals and Venmo withdrawals pages say both are available for US users only and may not be available in all states, that the account must be in the same name as your Kalshi account, and that there are no fees. You link PayPal or Venmo from the deposit page first; Kalshi notes this does not mean you need to deposit. Kalshi's pages do not give a timing for PayPal or Venmo withdrawals.

How do I withdraw from Kalshi by crypto or wire?

Crypto withdrawals have one precondition: Kalshi's Crypto Withdrawals page says a prior crypto deposit is required in order to withdraw via crypto, and document verification may be required before you can process one. Kalshi says crypto withdrawals arrive within 30 minutes and that there are no fees for crypto withdrawals, though its fee schedule says crypto deposits and withdrawals may have fees charged by Kalshi's third-party payment processor, disclosed before the transaction. The two pages do not quite agree, so check the confirmation screen.

Kalshi's help centre does not list the supported assets or networks for withdrawals; its page on linking a crypto wallet says only supported assets on supported networks will be accepted. Sending to the wrong network is the most expensive mistake: if the address and the network you select do not match, recovery is unlikely, so check the network as carefully as the address. If any of this reads as unfamiliar, our primer on why prediction markets run on crypto rails covers the underlying plumbing.

Wire is for very large amounts only. Kalshi's fee schedule says withdrawals by wire are not currently supported for transactions under $500,000. Its debit card page describes wire transfers as suitable for amounts greater than $500,000. Kalshi does not publish a wire withdrawal fee of its own; the fee schedule says fees for wire transfers vary from bank to bank, and its help centre does not give a wire withdrawal timing.

How long does Kalshi take to withdraw?

Short version, in Kalshi's own words: within a few hours for debit card, within a few business days for bank transfer, within 30 minutes for crypto. Kalshi does not publish a timing for PayPal, Venmo or wire withdrawals.

Those are the normal windows. Two things can sit on top of them: a hold on a recent deposit (below), and a compliance review, which Kalshi says typically takes 3 to 5 business days.

Here is a summary of what Kalshi's help centre and fee schedule say for each method, checked on 19 October 2026. Kalshi's fee schedule also reserves the right to charge between 0% and 2% fees on all rails, so the confirmation screen is the one that governs.

Method Timing Kalshi gives Withdrawal fee Availability
Debit card (incl. Apple Pay, Google Pay) Within a few hours None US and international
Bank transfer (ACH) Within a few business days None US only
PayPal Not stated None US only, not all states
Venmo Not stated None US only, not all states
Crypto Within 30 minutes None (processor fees possible) After a prior crypto deposit
Wire Not stated Varies by bank Only for amounts over $500,000

Kalshi's help centre does not publish a minimum withdrawal amount for any method.

How long does Kalshi withdrawal take if your deposit is still on hold?

This is the most common reason a withdrawal is slower than expected. Kalshi's Security Holds page sets out the holds by deposit method. For money deposited by debit card (including Apple Pay and Google Pay) or by bank transfer, a withdrawal by the same method is available once the deposit settles, and a withdrawal by a different method is available up to 2 days after settlement. PayPal, Venmo, crypto and wire deposits carry no hold. Kalshi says hold periods are measured from the exact time of your deposit, and that holds only apply to the original deposited amount.

Bank deposits take longer to settle. Kalshi's Bank Deposits page says they typically settle within 5 business days, and if a bank transfer fails or is returned after funds were credited, the credited amount is deducted from your balance, which can leave the account negative.

Common reasons a Kalshi withdrawal is delayed

A few patterns account for most delays. A hold on a recent card or bank deposit is the big one. Money still in open positions is the next: it has to be cash before it can leave. A compliance review can add 3 to 5 business days. For crypto, a missing prior crypto deposit or a pending document check stops the withdrawal before it starts.

A destination in someone else's name will not work for any method where Kalshi requires the name to match: bank, card, PayPal, Venmo and wire. And sending crypto to the wrong network is less a delay than a loss, so give that step more care than the amount field.

Can I use Kalshi where I live?

Most of the withdrawal flow is the same from state to state, with one exception: Kalshi says PayPal and Venmo withdrawals may not be available in all states. What changes more by state is whether certain Kalshi markets are available to you in the first place. Our guide to Kalshi's state-by-state access covers the regulatory picture; a few states have court orders in place that block Kalshi from offering sports contracts specifically, so if you are in one of those states your market set is narrower.

There is no legitimate way around a state block, and this guide will not pretend otherwise. If a court has ordered Kalshi to geofence your state out of certain contracts, that order applies to you.

A note on where this fits

iPredicta tracks prices across the major prediction markets and writes up what they are saying. The mechanics of getting money in and out are the uninteresting part, which is exactly why they catch people out. If you know which methods your account can use, respect the hold on recent deposits, and keep every destination in your own name, withdrawals are the easy part of the week.

Checked on 19 October 2026 against Kalshi's help centre and fee schedule, linked above. Timings, fees and limits can change; the figure shown in the Kalshi app when you confirm is the one that governs.

Frequently asked questions

How do I withdraw money from Kalshi?

Open Kalshi, choose Withdraw, pick a method, enter an amount and confirm. Kalshi lists debit card (including Apple Pay and Google Pay), bank transfer, PayPal, Venmo, crypto and wire; accounts outside the US can use debit card and crypto only. Only cash can leave: Kalshi says funds tied up in open positions are not available to withdraw until you close those positions. If you deposited recently by card or bank transfer, part of your balance may still be inside a hold.

How long does Kalshi take to withdraw?

Kalshi's help centre says debit card withdrawals typically arrive within a few hours, bank withdrawals within a few business days, and crypto withdrawals within 30 minutes. It does not give a timing for PayPal, Venmo or wire. A compliance review, where one applies, typically takes 3 to 5 business days, and a hold on a recent card or bank deposit runs first.

Why is my Kalshi withdrawal pending or delayed?

The most common cause is a hold on a recent deposit: for card and bank deposits, Kalshi makes the money available once the deposit settles for a withdrawal by the same method, and up to 2 days after settlement for a different method. Other causes are money still in open positions, a compliance review, and, for crypto, a missing prior crypto deposit or a document check.

Is there a minimum withdrawal amount on Kalshi?

Kalshi's help centre does not publish a minimum withdrawal amount for any method. The one floor it states is for wire: withdrawals by wire are not supported for transactions under $500,000. Debit card withdrawals have a daily limit that Kalshi says is personalised to your account and increases with account activity.

Can I withdraw from Kalshi to a different bank account than the one I deposited with?

Kalshi says only bank accounts in your name can be linked, so any account you withdraw to has to be yours; the same name rule applies to cards, PayPal, Venmo and wire. Kalshi's help centre does not describe an extra hold on a newly added bank account, but withdrawing by a different method from the one you deposited with can wait up to 2 days after a card or bank deposit settles.
